Terms & Conditions

Pup Up & Away is a fully insured (within the UK) dog training company.

These terms have been carefully crafted with the well-being, safety, and responsibility of both dogs and owners in mind. By engaging with Pup Up & Away, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Training Terms

  • I do not support or allow the use of any aversive equipment such as choke chains, prong collars, e-collars, etc. This company trains dogs using positive reinforcement methods that are scientifically researched and approved.

  • There is to be no harsh or disciplinary techniques used on the dogs by the trainer/owner/family members, including physical punishment, shouting, pinning down, and other physical correction.

  • For 1-2-1 sessions, payment is required more than 3 days before the first training session in the form of bank transfer or cash in order to reserve the time slot. When booking a series of sessions, if not paid fully initially, then a flat fee of £100 will be expected to cover the first session, then the rest of the balance is required before the next session takes place.

  • Sessions expire 4 months after the purchase date, and it is the client’s responsibility to ensure they book all sessions prior to the expiry date.

  • Cancellations will be allowed up to 48 hours before the agreed session was due to take place, and alternative session times can be discussed. If less than 48 hours, then the full cost of the session will be charged.

  • On rare occasions, we may have to cancel our session due to illness or unforeseen circumstances. If this is the case, I will try and accommodate you into my next available slot and try my best to give you as much notice as possible.

  • Refunds cannot be given after full payment has been received for training sessions.

  • Training and behaviour advice is given to owners with the best intentions, backed by scientific study, education and experience. However, owners understand that they take full responsibility in ensuring the welfare of their dog at all times during training sessions and at home.

  • Owners commit to following the guidance and training methods provided by trainers. Dog training and behavior modification are gradual processes, and the results may not be as immediate or dramatic as an owner hopes, even with full dedication and effort. Change requires time, consistency, and patience. Dogs do not naturally understand human expectations of right and wrong, so it is our responsibility to lead them with compassion and understanding, recognizing that they are sentient beings with emotions.

  • Clients waive any and all claims against me unless arising from negligence on the part of myself.

  • Pup Up and Away reserves the right to terminate services with a client if they fail to follow and comply with the agreed-upon training plan, instructions, or recommendations provided by the trainer. Consistency and cooperation are essential for effective training, and failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in the discontinuation of services to ensure the well-being of the dog and the integrity of the training process.

Group Class Terms

  • Please note that these classes are based on a first‑come, first‑served basis, and prepayment in full is required to secure your pup's spot. I will hold a place for your puppy for 48 hours after I have sent you your invoice. If payment is not received before the date provided on the invoice (within 2 days of the invoice date) the group class spot may be given to another dog.

  • If you need to cancel your place on a course, then a full refund will be given if a written request is received up to 7 DAYS before the first class session. If received after this time, then no refund will be given.

  • Pups must have received their first vaccination 1 week before starting the course.

  • Female dogs that are coming into or are in season cannot attend class.

  • If your dog shows any sign of illness or injury, then they are to be kept at home. Notes and homework will be emailed.

  • If you miss a class during the course, Pup Up & Away is unable to offer a refund, partial refunds, credits or alternative services for any reason including puppy/client illness, puppy death or re-homing. You will still receive class notes from the missed lesson and I am happy to correspond via email with any questions you may have. If you are unable to attend a class session, then owners agree to let me know as soon as possible.

  • If a class must be cancelled due to circumstances beyond my control (such as adverse weather that could impact the safety of the puppies or trainer illness where a replacement cannot be acquired), I will do my best to arrange an alternate solution such as arranging a replacement class on an alternative day.

  • Owners are expected to clean up after their dogs in public spaces, and keep full control of their dogs at all times. We are there to help, but you are responsible for your dog at all times.

  • Children are welcome to attend and participate in the group classes, however, if they are under 16 then a parent or guardian must be with them. Also, Pup Up & Away reserves the right to request that a disruptive child does not attend future classes if need be, as this can disturb the learning process for others in the class and distress/distract the puppies.

  • Clients accept that there are reasonable risks when dogs interact with each other or use equipment. This may include but not be limited to illness, injury or death of the client’s dog, another dog or person which may result from canine infections, dogs biting, fighting, being handled or transported.

  • From time to time your dog may be posted on our social media pages (Instagram, etc). If you have any issues with this, please contact me directly to discuss.

Walk & Train Terms

  • Payment for the walks must be completed at least 48 hours before the first Walk and Train session of the month.

  • A minimum 2 walks per week is required for the service and clients are asked to commit to the service for a 3 month period before terminating the service. If you wish to terminate the walks then a 1 month notice period is asked to allow for enough time for the slot to be taken by another client on the waiting list.

  • CANCELLATIONS: 7 days + notice = 100% refund. 2 - 7 days notice = 50% refund.  Less than 2 days notice = NO refund.

  • If weather conditions are too dangerous to carry out the walk (e.g. extreme heat) I will message clients to inform them of any alternative plans for the day that will be in place. If the weather is very poor (e.g., heavy rain), then I will provide training and enrichment inside the home after any toilet breaks that are needed.

  • I always aim to collect and drop off dogs at the scheduled times agreed but this isn't always possible due to transport delays.

  • Clients accept that should they need or wish to change their dog’s allotted day/time slot, I shall do my best to accommodate, however, changes to the schedule are not always guaranteed and can be difficult to arrange as other clients will have their secured slots and may not be flexible to swap.

  • I am responsible for any keys that I hold and in an event that they get lost, I will replace the keys. Keys are locked away when not in use. I am DBS checked.

  • Clients accept that in the case of an emergency, their dog may require veterinary care. Clients therefore authorise: Myself to seek veterinary care as appropriate, accept full liability for any costs arising and will settle any fees directly with the veterinarian involved.

  • Clients accept that there are reasonable risks when dogs interact with each other or use equipment. This may include but not be limited to illness, injury or death of the client’s dog, another dog or person which may result from canine infections, dogs biting, fighting, being handled or transported.

  •  Should clients prefer or request their dog be walked off-leash at any point during the walks for training development purposes, then clients accept that this involves reasonable risks as the dog is off-leash and no longer connected to my person.

  •  I will try my best to clean off your dog before dropping them home, but the walks may be muddy or wet, and I cannot be held liable for muddy paws on furniture or any mess upon their return.

  •  From time to time, your dog may be posted on our social media pages (Instagram etc). If you have any issues with this, please contact me directly to discuss.

  •  Dogs must be up to date with flea and worming treatment and this is the owner’s responsibility.
